WAYS TO GET INVOLVED IN ORGAN & TISSUE DONOR AWARENESS
Nebraska HOSA is excited to partner with Live On Nebraska during the 2021-2022 school year to share the importance of organ and tissue donation. Below are a few suggestions for activities and different ways you can get involved
and encourage donor registration in your school. Have another idea? Go for it! We’d love to hear about it
and support you in any way we can.
If you have any questions about donation and transplantation, need registration cards or a custom
link, promotional items, or anything else, contact us at 402-733-1800 or
[email protected].
School Registration Drives
Host a registration drive within your school to sign up registered organ, tissue and eye donors. You can obtain donor registrations via printed forms or online registrations. Live On Nebraska can provide a custom link in order to obtain and track online registrations. Printed registrations cards and promotional materials will be provided by Live On Nebraska.
School Presentations/Guest Speaker
Host a guest speaker from Live On Nebraska to educate your school, specific classes or student groups about the importance of organ, tissue and eye donation. Presentations can also include donor family members or transplant recipients to share their stories and experiences with donation and transplantation.
Create a Campaign to Promote Organ & Tissue Donation
Get creative and develop a campaign to encourage organ and tissue donation. A campaign can be completed in a number of different ways – a video, news segment, posters, advertisements, radio interviews, letters, brochures, social media posts, etc. Share the campaign in your school and send it to Live On Nebraska to potentially be featured on our website and social media pages.
Share Social Media Posts
Follow the Live On Nebraska Facebook or Instagram pages and share our posts. You can also download pre-designed social media graphics that include facts about organ and tissue donation at bit.ly/soc-pics.
Host a Random Acts of Kindness Event
Spend a day doing nice things for others and encourage the recipient to pass the kindness on by registering as an organ and tissue donor. Create cards to pass out while doing your acts of kindness that include your school’s custom registration link, where to sign up in person, or the Live On Nebraska website: LiveOnNebraska.org.
Host a Live On Nebraska Fundraiser
Team up with a local business or host a school fundraiser to donate funds raised to Live On Nebraska. The more creative your fundraiser, the better! Ideas can include car washes, 5K run/walks, dunk tanks, etc. Check presentations are available with Live On Nebraska representatives. All proceeds donated to Live On Nebraska are used for donation awareness and education.
