Mind-Bending Careers

Nebraska HOSA & Nebraska FCCLA are excited to partner with BHECN to host the Mind Bending Careers Conference to be held on Monday, November 11, 2024! The in-person conference will be held at the Nebraska Student Union at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

Mind-Bending Careers Event Objectives:

  • Students will be introduced to careers in mental health and behavioral health.
  • Students will articulate the impact of personal health choices on behavioral health and mental health.

We’re once again excited to partner with the Behavioral Health Education Centers of Nebraska (BHECN) and Nebraska FCCLA to offer this experience for 150 juniors & seniors interested in Mental and Behavioral Health Careers.

Cost: $10/participant (lunch included) for HOSA or FCCLA members only.

Dress Code: Nebraska HOSA Business Casual/Nebraska FCCLA dress code is required for this event.

Registration will open October 15 – November 1, 2024. Registration is limited to 150 students. The registration system will be different from other HOSA conferences because of the collaboration with FCCLA. Please stay tuned for more details.

Reach out if you have any additional questions! We’re excited to offer this event for you!

Requirements:

  • Students must be HOSA or FCCLA members in order to register for the event.
  • Each chapter must have an advisor or school-approved chaperone attend with their students.
  • Due to legal restrictions, all delegates, guests, and HOSA advisors must complete the following forms to be eligible to attend any NE HOSA Experiences or Conferences. These forms do NOT need to be submitted to HOSA, but HOSA will need to be informed if there are parents of students who do not want photos/names released in HOSA publications. The chapter advisor or chaperone should have access to these completed forms when their chapter attends any event. (FCCLA will have similar but different release forms.)
  • Changes to registration can be made prior to registration closing. After closing, cancellations/refunds are not permitted, but substitutions are allowed. Late registrations may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
