WHAT IS HOSA WEEK?
HOSA-Future Health Professionals has designated a week annually to encourage its members to give back to their communities through activities, presentations, and recognition and to give thanks to the value, accomplishments and achievements of all who have made the health profession a better place to work.
HOSA week activities are designed to provide school or community service, promote opportunities and show appreciation to the health community. Activities are planned and implemented that support the mission of HOSA.
The mission of HOSA is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience.
Nebraska’s HOSA Week Themes will be made available the 2 weeks before HOSA week, which is November 2-6. If your chapter participates and documents their HOSA week activities, you could win HOSA related prizes and get shoutouts on our social media! To document HOSA Week activities, you can either:
- Tag us on your social media posts regarding HOSA Week (@nebraskahosa)
- Create a Powerpoint or submit a presentation of what your chapter did during HOSA Week. Email it to the Nebraska HOSA Vice President of Media Relations at [email protected] or the Nebraska HOSA Vice President of Membership at [email protected]
All submissions will be due Friday, November 6 at 11:59 pm.
Don’t forget to have fun and be creative! The chapter with the most spirit and theme involvement will receive a package full of goodies and HOSA swag to their chapter. If you have questions, contact any of the State Officers or email State Advisor Rachel Buss at [email protected].
Be The Match is a nonprofit organization managed by the National Marrow Donor Program and facilitates the largest and most diverse bone marrow registry in the world. They help cancer patients across the world through donations and transplants. Joining the registry and potentially donating marrow can save the life of someone in need.
HOSA’s National Service Project for 2020-2022 is Be The Match. This means that HOSA is working with Be The Match to raise awareness and get potential donors registered through the Nebraska HOSA Network. You can participate in the National Service Project and Be The Match by joining the registry, fundraising individually or as a chapter, volunteering, donating, and through advocacy. As more information regarding HOSA and Be The Match is released, we will cover it!
