Who is eligible to be a HOSA advisor?
Typically, the chapter advisor is a teacher in the building who teaches in the health sciences, sciences, or a related subject. Some chapters have a school nurse or counselor as their advisor. The school administration must approve the advisor.
I'm a new advisor. How do I start?
Reach out to Nebraska HOSA's state advisor, Jami Denny ([email protected]), to introduce yourself and schedule a time for an advisor orientation.
Is there training available for advisors?
Yes! In December 2024, HOSA Inc. launched the Chapter Advisor Development Program. Please reach out to Jami Denny to learn more.
Where do I find HOSA updates?
The main source of communication and updates for advisors is through the HOSA Advisor Listserv. All advisors are eligible to join and should reach out to Jami Denny to be added. This website and the HOSA.org website are also great resources.
